Kloonigames: Crayon Physics

Here's a game the Dave tipped me off to. You draw boxes with your mouse. They show up in crayon and then gravity is applied. The object is to get the ball to roll into the star. It's very challenging and very fun. I didn't read much of the site, but I believe he may have also created this in a week. Thanks, Dave, for the link.

Santasm

I haven't been updating regularly lately, so I thought I'd drop in with a Christmas treat. I know it's a repeat, but I can't help it. This is a mildly disturbing short that doesn't offer any sort of explanation. I feel compelled to pass it on. It's very strange.

And as a special bonus, here's a version of Stryper's Winter Wonderland. Probably, you won't hear this on radio.

Wall Animation

Here's a crazy mix of animation and pixelation. Someone animated on a wall, painting out each frame before painting in the next one. It's a pretty astounding feat, and must have taken a lot of planning. The animation itself is very weird looking, bordering on creepy. Still, my hat is off!

Child Beater

This turned out to be a whole week of political incorrectness. I thought a great way to top it off would be with the "Child Beater" films by Triple S productions. It stars a father fighting his two very small (think toddlers) sons. It's just some friendly rough housing in the back yard, but it's cut together in a pretty funny way. It also looks like the kids are taking some big hits, but the site assures that they weren't harmed. See for yourself.

You Park Like an Asshole

On this site you can print out citations to give to people who are parking like assholes. They can then go to the site and see details about what kind of infraction they've committed. This is perfect for situations where a parking job is annoying, but not illegal. Also, be sure to check out the photo gallery of asshole parkers.

Fabchannel

Here is a great site that shows concerts for free. I just turn them on while I'm working and listen, really. The music is definitely good. There aren't a lot of big name bands, but there were a few that I recognized, including The Brand New Heavies, Pennywise, Bouncing Souls, and Josh Ritter. There's lots of good music on here. Men Who Look Like Old Lesbians

This one is not politically correct, but it sure is funny. The name says it all. Sometimes celebrities start to look effeminate as they age and here they are captured photographically and arranged for your viewing. So I've been lazy this week. I'll be back on top of things on Monday. This is my thanksgiving card I made a couple years back. It's sort of abstract, and you have to wait until the end to really tie it to thanksgiving in any way, but since I made it on the day, it seemed appropriate at the time. Hope you had a good holiday and weren't elbowed in the face by a soccer mom at 4 am the morning after as you both rushed for that bargain-priced name-brand good.

I Can Has Cheezburger?

Here, from what I can tell, is the source of the LOLcats. They have a few new ones each day (I've got them sent straight to my feed reader) and are usually quite funny. I started looking at them at work, because it was pretty sure that I wouldn't get anything terribly inappropriate coming down the pipe. Cute.

Launch Ball

As much as I try to keep educational content off of this site, I found a game so fun I can't resist. Here is a physics and science based game that is reminiscent of the Incredible Machine series. You have to set up your equipment and then you press play and see if it does what you want it to. Very cool, and sometimes very tricky. Thanks to Bryan for the link.

Things My Girlfriend and I Have Argued About

Mil Millington chronicles different arguements that he's had with his girlfriend. It sounds like they may argue quite a bit. Reasons range from mundane things like the TV remote control and how to eat a kit-kat, to fairly major things like choosing the name of their child, or how to pronounce that name once it had been chosen. It's written in a pretty funny way.

Pac-Txt: Pac-Man meets Zork

Someone has made Pacman into a text adventure. Commands include "look around" "forward" "back" and "eat dot." It's surprisingly fun, except I keep getting attacked by ghosts which means I "pass out and awake minutes later back where you began." It's all done neatly on the website, so it's easily playable during a slow day at work (just to give an example).

Tokyo Brass Style - All Girl Band Covers Dragonball Z Theme

Here's a clip of an all-girl brass band playing the Dragonball theme. It's pretty common to see cute j-girls, but it's rare to see them rocking this much! These girls can play. The comments from this post also point out that this is the Dragonabll theme that they are covering, not Dragonball Z. Sony Bravia - Play Doh Ad

Here is another amazing advertisement for the Sony Bravia. It involves stop motion rabbits running through New York City. I can't imagine the amount of planning or effort that went into this (and I'd hate to be the animator who messed up a shot and ruined a days work). The result is pretty freakin' amazing.

The Dose

Here is the site and blog of Andy. I took a few moments to check out the Diary section of the site, where the first post I read was about how he sent inappropriate photos to a friend to use in a wedding guest book. The next was "The Barbie Collection", featuring pictures with captions like "Community Service Barbie," and "Gay in London Ken." Another feature finds him putting personal ads on from the 1940s on Craig's List to see if they still get a response. They do, and it's hilarious. Thanks to Brian C. for the recommendation.

Smugheads

On this page you can find the blogs of Abo and Karo. They are brothers and each believes he can lead the way to artistic genious. Each also believes that the other is going about his artistry in completely the wrong way. They live together and bicker pretty constantly. You can track them both through their areas of the website. They just started, but so far there are quite a few updates. I'll be tracking them as they continue.

iGod | Artificial Intelligence Chat

Here is an online bot that lets you talk to to a higher power. I asked it all kinds of things. It was kind of vague, but once in a while it gave an interesting answer (when I asked it "Do you ever talk to Satan?" the answer was "Yes, a lot more than you might think actually"). It also has that super-slick, Applish, Web 2.0 look to it, which I guess is how it earns it's "i" prefix. Thanks to Dave for the link.

I Hate Young People

This guy took a camera to the street and interviewed a whole bunch of people about why they hate young people. Issues range from rudeness to clothing to an abundant use of the "n-word." Both young and old voices are represented (although not always the most diplomatic of either) and the interviews are cut together in a way that makes that hilarious.

World Beard & Mustache Championships 2007

Anyone who knows me personally knows that I have terrible facial hair envy. I wish I could grow a badass beard, but genetics have decided that such a fate is not for me. If you want to see someone more predisposed to awesome beards and mustaches, check out the winners of this competition. They are truly spectacular. And mostly German.

French Commercial

It's a french commercial. I'm not sure what it's advertising, but it's animated on an incredibly high level. Better than tv. Better than a lot of movies, actually. Check it out. Super stylized and super fun.

The Escapist: Zero Punctuation

Here is a great video series by a writer named Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw. He seems to have a good grasp on games, puts his criticisms in a really funny way, and does it all with simple and effective graphics. Watch one, and you might have to watch them all.

How to Cope with Death

Here is an amazing short about that time in an old woman's life when the grim reaper comes a-calling. Every frame is beautiful, and the story has a pretty fun twist. It's only 3 or so minutes, and well worth the time invested.

Slaughter Your World Video

Here is an animated villain singing about how much he loves to kill. It's set to one of the tunes from Disney's The Little Mermaid. You'll recognize the one. Only it's about delight in wreaking havoc. It's well executed and seems like a preview for something larger, which makes this even more awesome. Thanks to Dave for the link.

Paleo Future

This is a blog about what people from past generations thought the future would be like. It caught my eye when I came across scans of some postcards featuring French visions of the year 2000 from way back in 1910. How cool! There seems to be a lot of other material from all kinds of time periods. I'll be checking it out thoroughly.

Santasm

It's still early in the holiday season, but that doesn't mean that it's too early to be deeply disturbed by something vaguely Christmas themed. I'm not sure what the point is, but surely something more must be coming. It's just a long 1-shot video, and words don't do it justice. Watch for yourself. Then decide whether to laugh or cry. 5ON

Here's a great animated web series called 5ON. The premise is they interview 5 of something about a specific subject. For example, they interview 5 aliens about the finale of the Sopranos. Then they interview 5 robots about immigration. After that, demons on the environment, and so on. It's a really funny, well made show. Thanks to Zensho for the link.

Barfy the Pig

Here are some short animations about a pig that barfs. That's pretty much it. You can see him barf when threatened by a ninja, go through an ordeal involving a hole in the ground, and take a nasty spill. Thanks to Bryan for the heads up on this one.

Bullet Proof Baby

Here's an amazing site. It sells gear for babies, but not normal things like booties and onesies, more like tasers, riot helmets, and bullet-proof strollers. Of course, it's not serious, it's part of a viral marketing campaign, but that doesn't make it any less cool.

The Pilgrimage

Hey, it's some free music! This mixtape comes from The Gray Kid (who brought you PaxilBack a while ago) and DJ Mister Best. You'll probably hear some familiar beats, but the vocals are new. Download it and give it a listen. I like it quite a bit. Even if you hate it, it's free so you can just delete it.

Game game

Here is an interesting flash game that seems to have a lot going on. I just played through it quickly so I didn't get all of the detail that is seems to contain, but I'm sure the things that pop up have some sort of meaning. I just liked the style.

Literally, a web log

One of my biggest pet peeves involves the misuse of the word literally. This blog chronicles different instances of the word being used in just terrible ways. It includes the examples as well as what the statement actually means if you take the word literally as it should be taken. Brilliant

3D Mailbox

I've often wished there were more 3D graphics associated with my email. Especially if boobs were involved. Checking my email quickly and in a text-based format is so over-rated! Check out this video trailer for this new email software.

Chuck Norris Action Jeans

Here's an amazing ad for some jeans developed special so Chuck Norris could kick ass in style. This one has been around for a while, but it's still awesome. I would definitely buy a pair of these if I knew how to roundhouse kick. What a badass!

Mappy Hour

There's a lot of mashups with google maps but this one may quickly become one of my favorites. It's a site that uses the mapping technology to display local bars, and in many cases specials they happen to be running and when they run them. For someone that doesn't mind going out to have a drink once in a while, this could work out really well.

Great Shadow Puppetry Video

Here's a video of a man making some pretty sweet shadow puppets. He must have sold his soul to the devil or strategically broken every finger in each hand. He does a credible face, a duck, a rabbit, and more. Someone has seriously spent some time honing their craft.

Bat in the Sun Productions

Here are some really dedicated Batman fans. They are dedicated to the point where they make Batman fan films. Unlike many fan films, however, these are really good. The production value is amazing. It's nice to see a few people who are passionate about a project come together and do it justice. My favorite part are the facial prosthetics used for the Joker. Minesweeper The Movie

Here's a trailer made by the guys over at collegehumor.com for Minesweeper: The Movie. It's an excellent adaptation of the classic game, and looks more fun than most actual movies licensed from video game titles. Of course, it's only 3 mins long and the guys in it aren't taking is seriously, but still, it'd good.

World Clock

Here is a world clock that keeps some amazing statistics. Of course, the time is there, but it also keeps track of births and deaths, oil consumption, diseases of all kinds, injuries, and the number of extinct species. There's lots more to see, so check it out pronto.

Here's a site that will let your dog get his own small revenge on Michael Vick, who's being indicted on charges related to dogfighting. Only $10.99 will get you your own little rubbery statue. This business got started FAST!

Here's a site that you can go to if you need to purchase an actual voodoo spell. How great is that? Services include spells that will help you with love, money, and hex removal. Plus, if you get bored with reading things there are a plethora of animated GIFs that should hold your attention.

The Pearce Sisters

It looks like Aardman had made another really cool short. You can't see the whole thing here, but you can definitely get an idea of the visual style through this lenghty preview. It seems to be a departure from the stop-motion that made them so popular (Wallace and Gromit, Creature Comforts, ect.) but it has a cool style all it's own.

Bloxorz

Here's another super-addictive flash game. This one has you rolling a block around a board in attempt to get it into it's socket. There are switches and disappearing blocks, and you can fall off the edge if you're not careful. Thanks to Dave for this one.

Kanye West - Zack Galifianakis

Here is the video that Zack Galifianakis did for a Kanye West song. Even better, it seems to be endorsed by Kanye. The fact that the two guys never break character during the clip makes it all the better. I love this and can't stop watching it. God bless you both Kanye W. and Zack G.

Blood Puddle Pillows

Here an amazing project. It's pillows that look like blood spatters. You can catch some Z's and be sure that the first person to stumble your way will wake you up very quickly. Sort of like a roommate-based alarm clock. What a creative idea! Maybe I should start using it at work.

Pig launch

Here's an amazing photo series detailing the launching of a pig into the upper atmosphere, by, I believe, the russians. There's a little bit of pre-partying, I guess to help the little oinker calm down, and it seems to be alive in the final pictures, so I guess it has a happy ending. The pictures are amazing.

Chuck E. Cheese robots play hip hop

Here's some Chuck E. Cheese robots that have been configured to play a Bubba Sparxxx tune. If the robots themselves weren't enough to give you horrible terrifying nightmares, the choice of music will certainly seal that deal. Creepy, but I can't stop watching.

FUH2

So I've fallen off for another week, but I'm back to start off another round with something really special. Like most reasonable people, I really think Hummer's are ridiculous things to have driving around American highways. Imagine my delight when friend and coworker Ryan showed me FUH2. It lets people upload images of themselves giving the finger to H2's they come across. Be sure to check out the photo-collage poster. It's amazing.

1,500 Inmates practice Thriller dance

You know, I would have guessed that Filipino prisons would be terrible, but maybe they're not as bad as I would have thought. Here's a clip of 1,500 inmates performing choreography from Michael Jackson's Thriller together in the prison yard. Wow! Turns out that having that much time on your hands can be used for something more useful than riots in the mess hall.
