The Idiot Test

Now I know what you're thinking. I thought the same thing. This is going be some lame test. While it is pretty simple, I did get a strange, enjoyable kick out of it. I won't say much else about it, though, lest I give the biggest learning factor away. I will say this: your ability to follow instructions will be pivotal.

Lost Zombies

Today's link comes from Ryan Leach, who has this to say, "I run a zombie themed social network called LostZombies.com. Our goal is to create the first ever community generated zombie documentary." I checked out the site and I definitely like it. They have an open call for proof that zombies exist (any video or pic you can get together), and they ask for outbreak related information. I believe the final plan is to pull it all into one big documentary at the end, with story and content being based on the user submissions. Very cool. Thanks for the link Ryan.

Bomomo

Today's site is a really neat drawing tool. At first it seems pretty simple, but getting something good out of it takes a pretty keen eye and a knack for getting the placement of the cursor balls down. You can make some nice stuff and it has a heap of options that allow you to do different styles.

Meet Monkey

BBC Sports has some animated tie-in to the Olympic games featuring a character called Monkey and some of his friends. I believe the designs were created by Jamie Hewlett, of Tank Girl and Gorillaz fame. The music is by Damon Albarn, Also of Gorillaz and before that, Blur. It's well animated and fun to watch. Check it out.

Zombie Face Changer

Here's a good follow up for yesterday's link regarding zombie love: a tie-in for Romero's film Diary of the Dead. You upload your own picture and then add gore effects and grossness until you look like zombie. There are lots of different options so you can make your pic as tame or as extreme as you'ld like. If you do a good one, post it in our comments.

Zombie Harmony

Even in undeath no one wants to lead a lonely life. The Internets has come up with a solution to your mating zombie needs. My only peeve with the site is its lack of more depth to make it epic.

Laundry Day

Here's a short film from a student at Sheridan College. It's a very cool 2d animation that also sends up some anime conventions. It's very cool and even though it's not totally finished it's very well done. Definitely give it a look.

Zod 2008

As the general election rolls around in the coming months, I've finally come to the decision about which candidate to endorse. I've chosen one who embodies my beliefs and morals. Today's link is this very man. VOTE ZOD!

Running for Office XKCD Style

Here's a guy running for office who's got an admittedly XKCD style comic explaining how it is running for office. His name is Sean Tevis and he's running for state rep somewhere or another. The thing that sold me was his subtitle, "It's Like A Flamewar with a Forum Troll, but with an Eventual Winner." Check it out.

Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog

Here's Joss Whedon's new online project. It's got Neil Patrick Harris playing a villain, Nathan Fillion playing a hero, and Felicia Day playing a normal girl. All of them break into song. As of this writing all three acts should be online, but the third and final one goes up on July 18th 19th. A couple days after that, they will be taken down, and you will only be able to watch them by buying them online via itunes or purchasing a DVD. Don't miss the interesting story, high production values, and, most importantly, the singing, while it's still free.

How to draw a woman

How to draw a woman is a really cool video, which shows a first person view of a women being drawn from start to finish. Having to endure years of doing this in art class, its refreshing to see how others do the same process.

Slightly warped curiosities

Slightly warped curiosities, is a pretty cool collection of strange photos taken around the world. They run the gamut of awesome to bizarre. They have different stuff on the main site that I really haven't looked at so I can't really say if its completely SFW, but the link I've provided is SFW

Radiohead and 3D Scanning

Over the past couple of days the internet has been abuzz about the new Radiohead video which was created using exclusively 3D scans. LS3D, friend of the site and 3D scanning artist, explains it this way: "The video was created using two different scanning methods, laser and structured light. It's encouraging to see fine artists using technology instead of abhorring it. In an exciting move, Radiohead released the raw data from the session as a CSV sequence which I was able to process into a polygonal mesh to reveal what Mr. York looked like during the capture session." That's right, he reconstitued the data into a 3D solid, and posted it on his blog, which is currently the only place you can find the image. His post also contains links to the video itself as well as a short "making of" documentary. Thanks to LS3D for the link!

Graph Jam

Here is a site where users can submit their own nonsensical graphs. There are lots of bar graphs, pie charts and venn diagrams, tracking pop culture references of all kinds. It's hard to describe, but they're a sister site to icanhascheezburger and the failblog, which may give you an idea about whats going on on this one.

Blood Car

Check out the website for this amazing looking low budget horror/comedy. It seems to be doing really well on the festival circuit, and reviews so far don't look too bad, either, but the real seller on this one is the trailer. It looks like absolute campy fun that I love in my movies. I can't wait for this one.

Mr Picassohead

Mr Picassohead is a very cool flash site that gives you a huge range of Picasso inspired art images, allowing you to arrange them into your own Picasso-style work. I haven't had the chance to play with it to much, but it looks like the site has a fairly robust range of options.

Yoder's Canned Bacon

We've had several bacon related posts on the blog, but we're always happy to have another. Here you can find bacon in a can, in case you're camping with no fire or trying to outlast some nuclear fallout. "Fully Cooked, Ready to Eat, 12 Cans per case, 40 to 50 slices per can." I wouldn't mind giving it a try, but on this site you can only get it by the case, and I worry that 12 cans may be too many.

Today's link is pretty self- explanatory: a collection of hilarious bathroom signs from around the world, some more classy than others.

Om Nom Nom Nom

Here's one that's simple but awesome. People just use MS Paint to draw mouths and eyes over pictures and then write "OM NOM NOM" or something similar. It's surprising how funny a lot of these are. Click on the image or reload to see another.

How Many of Me

Ever wonder how many people in the US shared your name? With this site its easy to find out, it uses the current census data to date. I found out there are 3 others with my name in the US. I'm going to have to murder 2 of them, for they are stealing my essence. How many are there for you?

Audiobytes for Autobots

This is the site where Dashiell Driscoll releases his mashup albums. His second effort, 2.0, was just put out in April, and it;s a really fun listen. The albums are free, partly because all of the music is fully sample-based and partly because Driscoll is a hobbyist who just wants people to enjoy the work. Definitely give him a listen. Thanks to LS3D for the link.

Chase the Faceless Cat

This is one of the few sites on the net that can make me feel happy, sad, and angry all at once. It's a blog written in first-person (first-cat?) perspective. It covers the daily affairs and challenges chase has to overcome.
