SNL - The Chronic of Narnia

Chris Parnell and Andy Samberg are two hard rappin' dudes on the way to see Chronicles of Narnia. My favorite line: "You can call us Aaron Burr by the way we're dropping Hamiltons," which is, of course, a reference to spending ten dollar bills like it ain't no thang.

Church of the Flying Spagetti Monster

Church of the Flying Spagetti Monster. Another theory of intelligent design. This one seems even less likely to be taught in schools.

Honda Cog Ad

Reportedly, this is not computer generated. Also reportedly, it took 606 takes and lots and lots of money. Don't know if that's true, but this is awesome! A little older, but still very cool if you haven't seen it.

Rocketman

I can't say for sure, but this man just might be burning out his fuse up there alone. Check out these clips of the real life rocketman, rocketing around.

Crazy Artsy Puzzle

This is a crazy puzzle some guy made with his drawings. It's not too hard, but it's worth going through once just for the art.

Battlewang

Virtual cockfights. It's like fantasy league sports, except the sport is illegal in real life and the fantasy version is filled with innuendo. Thanks to Nate.

Trombone Dancer

A clip of a guy who plays trombone and then totally breaks it down on Steve Harvey's Big Time. AWESOME! This is the most awesome link I've had in a while. This is one seriously funky dude.

Googlefight

Ever wonder which search quereys would win in a fight? Google fight provides the answer. It runs a simultaneous search on two sets of text and then tells you which one got the most responses from Google. That one wins the fight. Turns out, "pen" beats the crap out of "sword." Thanks, Dave, for the link.

Dad's Home

Flash animation consisting of cartoon father totally wigging out and gleefully breaking things left and right. Thanks to Brian for the heads up.

WOW vs. Internet is for Porn

Kind of cute machinema of WoW characters singing the "Internet is for Porn" song. Just a heads up, the lyrics may not be totally worksafe. Thanks to Dave for the link.

No. 18

Michael Jackson from the Sega game Moonwalker appears to break it down in several old video games. Never seen kicks more effective. Thanks to Brian for the link on this one.

Mortal Kombat vs. Street Figher 2

Someone made a video in which Ryu of street fighter fame fights Mortal Kombat's Scorpion. I can only imagine this took hours and hours. I'd say an hour count in the triple digits. Thanks to Bentley for the heads up.

BACK!!

Sorry for the long delay in new posts. I'll be trying to add two or three new links per day 'till I'm all caught up.

EDIT:: Catching up, slowly but surely.

Pizzazz

Looks like a student-made video to me. Obviously a lot of time and care went into this. It's also kind of fruity.

The Future Shock

Well documented retelling of an elaborate prank played over several years and in several cities. I'm only about halfway through reading this, but it is most assuredly awesome.

Japanese Magic Trick

Pardon me, this Japanese illusion has the magician passing solid objects through a glass coffee table. How the...?

Halo Zero

A 2-D version of Halo. Now you can own aliens vicariously through Master Chief in 2D Sprite form. Includes campaign and multiplayer modes (I haven't tried multiplayer) and is kind of fun. It's also kind of free, which is the best part.

Bullet Time

See how close you could be to gunfire and still dodge the bullet, that is, if dodging only required a simple click of the mouse. I'm fast, but I'm sure there are some who are faster.

Boy and a Stick and Snake

Weird observations in webcomic form. Thanks to Zensho for the link.

Benny Benassi - Satisfaction

Models in scant clothing using power tools in this music video for Benny Benassi's smash hit (in Europe mostly) dance track. I suddenly am very sad that I don't have a masonry drill of my own.

Zefrank.com

Website of flash badass and cool artist Zefrank. There's a lot of cool stuff here. The educational videos are hilarious, especially the dancing ones and Impress Your Date. Also check out the interactive toys. They aren't so much funny as technically amazing.

Cars - New Teaser

At first I heard there was going to be a movie about talking cars, and I couldn't help but think "LAME!" Now, though, as more visuals from the movie come out, I can't help but be impressed by the look of this film. Maybe I'll give it a chance.

Spin

Short produced by Double Edge Films. Seems that these days God sends his angels to earth in DJ form. A cool element of this one is how small events trigger chain reactions that lead to accidental deaths and maimings. Thoughtfully provided by Nate.

C'etait un Rendezvous

What do you get when a filmmaker has his race car driver buddy strap a gyro-stabilized camera to the front of his Ferrari and tearass through the streets of 1976 Paris? An amazing video, is what you get. This clip features chills, thrills, and notable Paris landmarks, not to mention an amazing sense of speed. They didn't block off any streets or warn any people or anything, and the first time the filmmaker showed the film in public he was arrested. The actual driver is unknown to this day. Thanks Nate, for the tipoff.

Happy Thanksgiving, from YT.

Yours Truly made a short cycled animation earlier this week as a tribute to the love between a certain dog and its favorite stuffed rabbit. Inspired by YTMND, it was combined with one of the most rocking songs of all time to create a one-of-a-kind Thankgiving greeting (although you have to watch to the very end to see any mention of Thanksgiving). So today you can give thanks, for an extra link.

Let them sing it for you.

Enter text into this site, and the app will find songs that have the words you specified and string them together into one clip, so that you will hear your entry composed of singing sound bytes. Pretty cool. There are still some words it doesn't have, but it works pretty well.

Wednesday, November 23, 2005

You're the man now, dog.

Amazing site, based on http://yourethemannowdog.com. A ytmnd consists of any image, which may be tiled or animated, and a looping sound file. Simple concept, but hilarity results. Check out http://ualuealuealeuale.ytmnd.com/, a personal favorite. Thanks again to Dave.

Stick Figure Death Theater

A variety of flash cartoons featuring stick figures and ultra-simple characters getting maimed, being killed, swearing and acting vulgar. I haven't seen it all, but so far some of the stuff is really funny. And some of it ain't. Thanks to Dave for this.

Monday, November 21, 2005

xiiin

This is a weird site. It's not in english, but I'm still entertained clicking around it. Check it out, there's weird little 3D characters and stuff. Warning...big files and long loads may be in your future.

VG Museum

Video Game Museum. The really cool place on this site is the Sprite Rip section, which features sprites ripped from old Video Games, in animated GIF form. I love animated GIFs. Follow the links at the lower end of the right menu bar, or just click on one of these:

Flash Mind Reader

This flash app will read your mind. Sort of. Very intriguing at first, but then you can probably tell how it's done. This is really more of an "are you smarter than will" test. It took me about 40 seconds to figure out how they did it. Can you beat my time? Thanks to Reuben for the heads up on this one.

Road Waffles

Web comic from a few years ago by artist "8," which is very funny. I just found out there have been more installments and I haven't been reading them. I'll fix that immediately.

The Awakening of Consciousness

Short film made by two spanish guys with decent animation and decent jokes. It's a send up of kung-fu movies, fighting games, and anime. Worth a look, to be sure.

Monday, November 14, 2005

The Fingerboarder

Project of Carlos Baena, Pixar animator and general badass. I didn't know fingerboarding was really something that could be done this well, but his movie has showed me wrong.

Infected with Martin Sargent

The former late night host of Tech TV's Unscrewed is back, and, it's nice to see, still really funny. The new form he has taken is that of a podcast called Infected. They talk about tech news and weird stuff, and a highlight of the episode is the commercials they do for their sponsor, The Olive Garden.

Channel Frederator

Cartoons. Free cartoons. Available for download in an ipod friendly format. (that last part would be even more awesome if I wasn't too poor to have an ipod). Oh well, quicktime will have to do. Even more awesome, they support independent artists, using this podcast as a way to showcase the works of individuals.

Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny

Official site for the forthcoming Tenacious D movie. If you're very religious, you might want to stay away, however. Satan seems to be heavily involved in the movie, going so far as to executive produce. There are a couple of fun clips on here right now with, I can only hope, more to come soon. Long live the D.

Vin Diesel Fact Generator

Amazing site generates 100% factual information about Vin Diesel. "Vin Diesel doesn't waste time with Ironing boards; he simply throws on a wrinkled shirt and rubs the scalding hot iron all over his chest." What a hardass!

Sidewalk Chalk Guy

This guy makes badass sidewalk art that looks 3d if you view it from a certain angle. Pretty freakin' cool. Thanks, Dave, for the link.

Smurf Town under fire

This is a unicef ad running on Belgian television to illustrate the horrors of war. War, already helacious, has even reached the smurfs. Poor little blue guys. Thanks to Reuben for the tip off on this.

Eat Hufu

This page advertises and sells a product that claims to be the tofu-based equivilent of Human Flesh. Just think of how tofu-pups put that delicious bean curd in the place of the assorted pig odds and ends that usually make up hotdogs. It's like that, but with people. Thanks to Zensho for the link.

Wednesday, November 02, 2005

Squidbillies - Floor It

Game featuring the Squidbillies, straight from their new show during the sunday night adult swim time block on cartoon network. It's a fun game, no matter if you're into the show or not. The things that characters say ruined my first few games by making me laugh to hard to be able to control the game properly.

Tuesday, November 01, 2005

Tiki Bar TV

The tagline is "Forbidden Cocktails in a Swank Pad." The content is a video podcast featuring Dr. Tiki, a man of medicine who write perscriptions for cocktails. He's regularly joined by the bartender, Johnny Johnny, and a hot chick, Lala. All 9 episodes completed so far can be found on this site.

Baby Got Back covered by Jonathan Coulton

Jonathan Coulton is creating and releasing music under the creative commons license. I came to his site because I heard his cover of Baby Got Back (sort of accoustic pop style) and thought I'd try for more. His other songs are worth a listen too, but check out Baby Got Back first and foremost

Yatta

Site that gathers links as a tribute to a weird satire of Japanese boy-bands. Originally a skit on some tv show, it gained popularity on the internet. Rest is history. Thanks Ben, for the link.

Ultra-violent, extremely well-animated flash cartoon of a very cute bunny killing loads of other very cute bunnies. There are a couple of sequels as well, so check them out also.

Gas Games

Flash games. Yay! Talk about huge time-wasters. I lost the most time to Stack-Trace and Gravity.
