This is a very cool compliation of things happening in extremely slow motion. Water balloons explode, things get shot with bullets and people get slapped in the face. Very cool.

Cute with Chris

This is another video podcast in which Chris talks about cute things. These mostly come in the forms of pets dressed in different costumes and animals in need of rescue from the shelter. Though the show seems like it would be limited to one joke, Chris finds new and inventive ways to show the critters, and sometimes a few people.

Merry Christmas Triplepost

So I've decided to line up a triple shot of Christmas happiness for the holiday. First, something special from me: A Christmas card I illustrated personally. And yes, the joke on the t-shirt is a barely-changed version of something funny I saw in a Jhonen Vasquez comic. Hope that's not a problem for you. (No lawsuits, please, as I don't have any money).

Secondly, some people don't have the money to put up a traditional Christmas tree. Others feel that while it's nice and all to have a regular tree, Christmas is a good opportunity to make something new. Here are some good do-it-yourself Christmas "trees."

You Don't Know Jack

One of my favorite party games every came in the 90's in the form of You Don't Know Jack!. I spent many, many hours laughing and playing those games alongside my childhood friends. This is one of the few games where I saw it and then immediately went out to buy my own copy of every single edition out at the time. Now they're back with a web game. Play 'Dis or Dat' on the site. The Flash does a great job of emulating the old look and feel of the game.

Busy Airport

This is a great composite picture of airplanes taking off from an airport. It's from some sort of fine art show. There's more details on the site, but I just like the picture.

Stuff on my Cat

This one isn't especially new, but it's great. The title is Stuff on my Cat. That's pretty self-explanitory. If you still need more incentive, the tagline is "Stuff + Cats = Awesome". Exploding Dog

If you send this guy a title, he will make a drawing based on it. It's mostly stick figures, and really nice colors. Also, his ideas are very creative. I really enjoy checking out his updates. Sometimes he also does drawings by mail and if you catch him at the right time with a self-addressed stamped envelope he might send you a hard copy of a drawing.

Liberated Films

This is a site that is dedicated to putting independent films on the internet for us to watch for free. The vids are small and in flash players, but it's still good. There are preroll ads but they're short.

Dolph: Operation Thule

This one is a German flash game in which you play a hippo with a club. You hit seals with it. Sometimes you hit Eskimos. Also, the game yells at you in German. Not really sure what it's saying, but I know that it's awesome!

Doodlelong

This is billed as the worlds longest doodle. Anyone can add a bit to the end of it. Right now it 10461 contributions, making it super long. It's kind of a limited drawing tool, so it's fun to see what some people are doing with it. Of course, since anyone can draw, there are a lot of penises thrown into the mix.

Winterbells

Here's a cute winter themed flash game. Use bells to shoot a rabbit high into the winter evening. It doesn't make much sense when it's said that way, but you'll see what's going on when you go. Very peaceful, this one.

Ebola Monkey Man

This is a guy who's hobby is pissing off Nigerian email scammers. He keeps running accounts of his interactions. He gets them to use silly code names, take pictures of themselves and basically strings them along for as long as he can. Worth a look.

Sam Has 7 Friends

I'm back. After a week of taking a break from the modern marvel that is internet time wasting, I'm refreshed and ready to kick out some fresh new links. The first is Sam Has 7 Friends. This is a daily video podcast about the fictional Samantha Breslow. It's building toward her murder. Since this fact is advertised right up front on the website, the fun is in trying to figure out which of her friends will be the one that does it. And the term "friend" is used kind of loosely. Maybe it should be called Sam Has 7 Acquaintances Who Treat Her With Varying Degrees of Hostility. Not as catchy, that one. Check it out.

HA HA Funny Picutres

This is a site that dynamically generates the old print of the laughing quaker to say the message of your choice. Of course, this has been done for a while on different forums by people with image editing programs, but now all you have to do is enter in your phrase and the image will appear for you. Check out this one, I made: Will's Laughing Man.

The Lair of the Crab of Ineffable Wisdom

Remember those commercials of the grating voices weird furry things that sang a song about how much they loves Quizno's subs? Well it turns out that they were created by Joel Veitch and this is a site where he has a lot of his other videos. Watch "we like the moon" and you will instantly recognize the style of both the song and the images. Thanks Dave.

Traktor Filmmakers

Traktor is a group of six film-makers who make really cool commercials and music videos. The site is super simple, (they say they don't make websites) and all of the clips are really fun to watch. I especially like the vid for "Up the Tempo," by Fatboy Slim.

Distraction Game

In this game, characters outside of the boundaries interact with you, trying to trip you up. Also, the change the area that you can move around in. Short, but novel!

Whiteboard Music

This is an animation made using a whiteboard. It's sort of an extended morphing doodle set to music. There are lots of little characters and lots of smooth changes, and it goes with a pretty chill song.

Virtual NES

This site is an online emulator that plays tons and tons of games for the original NES (or Famicom, if you prefer) Just click on some games on the right hand side and they'll load up. Your keyboard acts as the controller. Good nostalgia factor here!

Eyemaze

This site has a bunch of flash games all made by presumably the same guy. Check out the "Grow" series. You put things down in order, and if you get the right order, then cool stuff happens. If you don't, then it doesn't. It's not especially logical at the outset, and there aren't clear correlations between objects before you plant them. Lots of trial and error. Lots of time wasted. Console Wars and the Ladies of Ebay

This is a video comprised of screen shots of girls who used risque poses to try to lure others to their auctions as they sold the new Sony PS3 and Nintendo Wii. Seems to be quite a trend. Word on the street, according to this site, anyway, is that the flirtacious pics didn't really boost the price of the auctions.

Millions of Dominoes Fall

From Rueters, it's a video of the world domino record being broken. Actually, it's more of a highlight reel. The dominoes numbered over four million and the video is only two and a half minutes long. Still, it is pretty impressive. If you're going to break a world record, you might as well pick one that takes infinite patience to prepare and on which assembly could be halted at any moment by an errant sneeze.

Rings

In this flash game you have to stack rings on top of each other. Every time you place a small yellow ring on top of slightly larger blue ring, they both disappear. If you make a stack of three, then the points you receive for making the pile vanish are more. Also, you have to clear each ring before a set time limit. It's exceptionally addictive, and I've been playing it all weekend. I thought it would kick the week off well.

Budsmack

Another promotional site. This one is fantastic. You type in something and it makes a picture say it. You can use their default picture, football related, or you can use your own picture which you upload. Here's what I had to say (it's good for the next 13 or so days).

Sketch Swap

On this site, you make a sketch and then you hit submit. Once you've done that, another picture that someone else has submitted is sketched on your screen. I believe that sketches are screened so nothing too dirty can get posted. So draw what you want, but no weiners and butts! Zensho is responsible for this link. He's been busy this week.

Pixel Blaster

In this game you aim with the mouse and fly with the keyboard. It starts out simple but gets hairy really quickly. It reminds me a lot of the old PC platformer Abuse, which I loved.

Shave Everywhere

This guy loves talking about grooming. It's a promotional website for an electric body hair shaver but that doesn't mean that it's not funny. This dude gets bleeped a little bit but every time that happens his point is illustrated with fruit. Makes me feel a little hairy. Once again Zensho provided the link.

Man in the Dark

This is a really simple site but it's so cool. It's also been around for a while, but I just don't care. It's a brilliant idea realized very well. That's all I got to say, except that this one wasted more time than a lot of these links do. Thanks Zensho for the reminder on how awesome this one is.

Tunnl

It's a really fun game where you fly as a missile through a 3D tunnel. The mouse controls the motion, but there's a little lag, as inertia comes into play. This one has shaved hours off of my life. It has 9 levels supposedly, but right now I'm stuck on 6. If you can beat it, let me know. Until then, I'm going to keep trying.

Barats & Bereta

Another site with youngsters making funny videos and putting them online. I looks like they started in college and are still at it. The most recent videos are the funniest and I think you might like them.

Will It Blend

A guy blends awesome things in his blender. Like a can of coke, including the can. Or marbles. I wouldn't want my fingers in there, but I love watching the videos of the old man putting in crazy things.

Dan Paladin: Watermelon

A while ago I put Synj.net as an awesome link. Since then Dan Paladin has been busy and one of his projects includes a CD of music entitled Watermelon. It's hard to define, but the closest I can come is if pop music and 8-bit video game scores had a love child, this would be it. You can listen to it (or most of it) on the site.

Flow in Games

This is a really simple and really fun game. You just swim around and eat things. Your creature follows your cursor. If you click, it swims faster. The more you eat, the more you evolve, and the bigger you get. Also, the background music is mellow and cool. Thanks to Dave, for this one.

Pascal

This is the personal site of Pascal, and animator and illustrator. He has a lot of quick sketches and very lively animation. It's very fun to see. I especially enjoy the clips that deal with bosses being a bother at work. Thanks, Zensho, for the link.

Sweaty Robot

Sweaty Robot is a comedy group that makes shorts and produces a podcast. Their stuff is pretty funny, and the production value is higher than most. Definitely give their site a look-through.

Phosphor FPS

This is a really advanced FPS you can play in your browser. It requires Shockwave, and it's supersweet. When I played, I played against bots, but I believe there is an opportunity for multiplayer. It's one of the most advanced games I've seen come through my Firefox. Happy Halloween.

It's time to get your abstract impressionism on! This is a simple site that lets you make your own Jackson Pollock-esque art with only your mouse. Frank Klepacki

Frank is a composer for some of the most awesome video game music ever, Including the Command and Conquer series. On his site, there's a flash player that will let you play all of his music. Fire up "Hell March" and think whistfully of super saturated CGI cutscenes and somewhat cheesy FMV (as well as little men dying in a few pixels of crimson). Thanks, Dave.

Irritating Game

This is a French Flash game. Luckily there are English instructions. The full English title is Irritating Game which uses 100% of your brain. You use the mouse to control two paddles and keep two balls in the air at once. One moves from side to side, and one rotates and since there is only one input, moving one in your favor will move the other away from it. I'm trying to break a minute. Let me know how you do.

Popular Science: Flight of the Pole Dancer

Here is a video pulled from YouTube in which a girl pole dancing at a club totally wipes out. At the time the video was shot, I'm willing to bet that alcohol was involved. Now, science is involved. There's a very detailed explanation of why she loses it. I recommend reading the explanation first, and then watching the vid. Thank you, science.

I really like this clock. I lost myself for a long time staring at it earlier. How long? Luckily it was a clock, so I could tell exactly how long. I won't give the exact number, but I will say that it was depressing

Eastern European Matchbox Covers

Here are a collection of Soviet matchbox covers. It's really interesting to see the old propaganda illustrations. Sometimes I have trouble remembering who is superior, so It's nice when a matchbook can remind me: Oh yes, it's the Soviets. One highlight is the appearance of Laika the space dog. This is a series of webisodes made "Will" and "Derrick." These actors have had a few bit parts and are now trying as hard as that can to get on any TV possible. Eventually they're trying for their own show. Along the way they make some interesting vidoes which they post here.

A blog associated with Make Magazine. It tells how to make all kinds of cool things. Some of them are really technologically advanced, like a basic bi-pedal robot. Some of them are really simple, like the cockroach cake. Either way, it's fun to look through. Thanks to Nate for the link.

This is an ongoing video comedy series made by some people I sort of know back Indiana. I got turned onto this by a mutual friend and was really happy to see that it is genuinely funny. Nice work guys.
