Profane Game

It's simple, you get a minute to enter in as many profane words as possible. You get points for each new one, and you lose points for each one that isn't dirty enough. Repeats don't count. It uses the APIs for a couple of online dictionaries to determine whether your word makes the cut. I thought I had heard a thing or two in my day, but I could barely break 50 and that was with a lot of work.

Here is the website of a girl who sings and puts it up on YouTube. Of course, a lot of people do that, but this girl is really good! Here all the videos are collected in an easy to watch place.

Attractors

Here's a fun little flash app that has bouncing particles and movable gravity sources. You can move things around and see how it affects the motion. Cool.

Cute Overload

More cute pics and videos of animals accompanied by baby talk meticulously typed out. Greg was nice enough to tell me about this one, but it also happens to be the very first link you get when you type "cute" into google. And that concludes my first themed week. Thanks Greg.

Shaving a Cat

Here's something else that cats don't seem to like. Getting shaved. I know that lots of times dogs get trimmed to help deal with the summer heat, but I had never heard of it happening to cats. Until now, that is. This isn't cute so much as hilarious.

Pet Spa

This is a site that sells a machine that will wash and dry your pet for you. Seems innocent enough, right? Put in your cat, wait a couple minutes and you're done. Zensho was kind enough to show me this video of the machine in action. I wouldn't go so far as to call this animal abuse, but I'm certain that this cat hates it. Thanks Zensho.

Cats

This is a site filled with what can only be described as cat macros. Cute cats with captions, all gathered into one place. The title for the thumbnail is "INVISIBLE BIKE." Hilarious. Cute Week continues here.

The Cute Project

This is a collection of lots and lots of cute, cute pictures. If this were any sweeter I'd have cavities. I'm looking for more cute things this week, so if you have any, pass them along.

Frog, and film by Chris Conforti

An animated short film about a frog trying to get to water. Things just get worse and worse for him as the film continues. It's very impressive, especially because it all seems to have been done by one guy. Thanks to Zensho.

Giant Octopus Battles Shark

The title says it all. I'm not really interesting in fighting a shark, but after watching this, I hope I never piss off an octopus. Fortunately I don't encounter either on a daily basis. Check it out.

Flash Element TD

In this game you place towers strategically, and then little soldiers try to run past them. It's really quite addicting. For every character you kill you get gold to build/upgrade towers. For every one that gets past you, you lose one of your twenty lives. I haven't beaten it yet, but I've heard tell of some who have.

MC Frontalot

Supposedly, he invented nerdcore. He also has been very active on another awesome link: Songfight. The important thing is that he has a link to trailers for his documentary, Nerdcore Rising as well as a whole bunch of free raps that you can check out. A couple of my favs include "Charity Case," "Romantic Cheapskate," and "This Old Man." Thanks to Dave for the link.

Film Cow :: Charlie the Unicorn

This is a really funny animation about unicorns. The animation is somewhat limited, but the story is great and the voices are hysterical. It reminds me very much of the things I see coming out of Williams Street and shown on Adult Swim. Thanks, Dave.

Sing Shot

SingShot is an online karaoke site. You can record yourself and share it with other people. Then you can rate each other and enter contests. It lacks a little bit of the vibe that a big group in a karaoke bar fosters, but the online community they've built seems pretty into it. Check out my bad ass rendition of "Paperback Writer" by the Beatles. How to Beat the Claw Game

This video breaks down how to win prizes in those annoying claw games you see in arcades. Seems like more work than it's really worth, but it's still interesting to see how it works.

PKiller

This is a simple text based game that reminds me of the MUDs I used to play in my early days on the internet. It's pretty simple and the emphasis is on killing other players, which is where the names comes from.

Long Awkward Pose

This is a simple concept executed very well. Katie Dippold, who runs the site, sets people up as if she's going to take their photo, but instead records video. While she's recording she gets her subject to hold the pose for as long as possible. Hence the name of the site.

Lookwell

This one is an amazing find. It's a pilot that never got picked up, written by Conan O'Brien and Robert Smigel. It stars Adam West as a guy who used to play a cop on TV. He's continuously trying to help the real police, but only ends up getting in the way. I don't want to ruin any surprises, so I won't say more. It's a 20 minutes well spent.

This is a Knife

Another web show. This one is about interesting things on the internet and hosted by a guy named Donal. He's very likable and goes about documenting a lot of things that are a little out of the ordinary. The show usually comes out once a week.

Stephen G Bucher's DAILY MONSTER

This is a daily video podcast where Stephen G. Bucher draws a new monster before your eyes. It's sped up quite a bit so in just a short time you can see him go through his whole process. Very cool.

Gateway

It's a sort of thinking adventure game in flash. You move your little character around and solve different puzzles in different rooms. I'm stuck in the room after the TV, the one with the lights hanging down. Not sure where to go from there. Maybe you'll do better.

Net Disaster
